  1. I just googled Bennington with Driftwood interior and found many examples of boats for sale with this color. Bennington has one on their site with Driftwood too.
  2. Good point. I'll call the marina tomorrow on the lake I plan to keep the boat and get their thoughts on parts, preference between the two etc.
  3. Just wondering if anyone has a Bennington with the Volvo Penta Duo Prop setup. I did a search and it came up empty. I had this combination in my Seaswirl Striper. It was a beautiful thing and trouble free for the 4 years I owned the boat. The other option Bennington offers in an I/O is the Mercury V-8. I had a 50 horse mercury outboard on a Klamath boat in 2008 and it was nothing but problems, so I'm a little hesitant on the Mercury I/O, plus I don't really know much about them. Thoughts on either would be appreciated.
  4. Thanks, that's pretty much what I figured. I'm a firm believer in common sense!
  5. When I had my old boat we would beach it on a sandy shore and let everybody off to stretch their legs etc. I'm just wondering if this is something you can do with a pontoon boat or is there a reason it shouldn't be done?
  6. I love it when a plan comes together. Sounds like it was meant to be. Congratulations on a beautiful new Bennington and many happy years of enjoyment and good times!
  7. Very nice! Thanks for all the pics.
  8. Thanks Cap, There are several reasons for the I/O. We would probably split our time between California and Idaho. I had an I/O Volva Penta Duo Prop on my last boat and loved it. The big decider is my wife likes the clean look of the I/O and the full deck teak swim platform you gain with it. She usually wins on these type of decisions.
  9. Does anyone have this color? My wife really likes it with the tan interior but I usually like things more neutral. She thinks I need to break out of my neutrality. I have to admit it looks nice but I've never owned anything red/maroon and wondered if anyone has seen one in person or owns this color.
  10. I know Bob, I usually give the local guy first shot. We bought our last 2 motorhomes from our local dealer but were armed with pricing from the out of state guys. The local came within 1,000 of the out of state so it was a done deal. I actually just found this forum. I started researching pontoon boats and kept coming back to Bennington. I really want an I/O.
  11. Also, to add to my research, are there any preferred dealers? With the brand of motor home we have, there are 3 or 4 discount dealers that many buy from. They always have the best pricing and service. I don't have a problem buying out of state if the savings are enough to justify it.
  12. Hi All, New member looking to get back into boating. We had a Seaswirl Striper 18 years ago and are looking to jump back in. We've bought 2 motor homes over the years and easily negotiated 27 to 30% off MSRP, which is basically a standard figure off for an RV. Does this apply to boats? Is there an average number used off MSRP for boats? Thanks for any help. Hope to be a Bennington family member next year.
