A way to secure a bow seat in the side door location

3 posts in this topic

As those of you with the bow seat option know that it fits well in the bow, but less so in the side door location. On my S-boat there is about 1.5" of space on each side of the seat when placed in that location. Here's my solution.

I went to West Marine and secured two stainless footmans loops, two 1" stainless rings and 4 stainless screws. This cost approx. $20. Now I can stretch a bungee cord across the seat (it hides in the seat's fold) and the seat stays in place.

These images show what a footmans loop looks like, a close up of the installed parts and a photo of the opening with the parts installed.31591438-E277-4CA7-A855-D7B0639E6B46_zps5427FE82-0FAD-4E35-B35F-1A5B7AA61796_zpsB7FDDFD7-A1DF-4524-BD39-A03D7DBB1E1D_zps
