I have untrimmed the engine ever since this happened in 2015 and not one incident of smoke at start up.

I have not been online much but to answer you very late, I spoke to the Yamaha rep and he sent me a illustration of the problem. The trim must be slightly up the you leave your boat.....So sorry for not responding earlier....

Thank you for your thoughtful comeback and for responding so quickly.  My fear is that my dealer / marina will conclude that my F150 is Ok and I will be winterized and wrapped only to have a big issue in the spring.........Engines do not smoke huge amounts of BLUE and spit large amounts of oil...

If a valve would not seat or was hung up would there be so much smoke.....huge amount of blue smoke?

That is what I think as well....for there to be so much smoke and oil discharge the rings must be bad or broken and if broken the cylinder wall would be scared.  I want a new engine if that is the case because it only has 40 hours and I would not want a head replacement and tear down and...
