Jack, your distant relative, Admiral Raymond Spruance, was one of the most important military commanders in WWII. The Battle of Midway was, unquestionably, the turning point of the war in the Pacific, and he was the boss. What a legacy!
What a beauty! Photos to follow as soon as I clean up the drool marks.
We immediately put the requisite two hour break-in on the Hobbs meter and opened her up.
Very pleased to have jumped to 5800 RPMs, 28 MPH (two pax, full fuel, calm water). That is more than we'll be routinely be needing...
Greetings!
Years ago when I bought an RV, I found a generic, one size fits all, pre-delivery checklist which proved to be a great tool to make sure all was shipshape before I drove off the lot.
Is anyone aware of a similar list for a new pontoon (other than common sense, of course)?
Thanks...
Mike, please consider including in your tour the latter phase of construction: wiring, console/furniture installation, sharkhide application, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour!
I did not order the bolster captain's seat on our 20SSRX because it would not match the adjacent copilot's seat, and I didn't want two bolster seats. Actually, our guide on our recent factory tour pointed that out and talked me out of it.
Our tour guide explained that the universal shift to vinyl decking (vice carpet) drove the mooring cover design change, plus the elimination of the dreaded snaps.
Our new 20SSRX is sitting at the dealership, still in it's shrink wrap, awaiting completion of our new dock. It's tough to keep...
We recently toured the factory in anticipation of building our 20SSRX.
Learned that the mooring covers on the 2018 boats have eliminated the snaps at the bow. The cover now extends only to the forward rail and clips all around.
All keels will be solid (no longer an option).
The tour was...
Another owner suggested to me that Bennington discontinued the seat covers because of the ten year Bennington warranty. That's a long time for canvas products. Makes sense.
Myv, thanks! I called Tumacs and they will, in fact, build the individual covers and they have all the Bennington patterns. Like Bennington, they only work through the dealers. That's the route I will go.
I will end up with both the mooring cover and the seat covers. I presume the mooring...
My dealer has informed me that the seat covers will no longer be offered, starting with the 2018 model. I am surprised at this, since my order was placed and accepted on 5 July.
I guess I'll be buying the mooring cover after all.
Has anyone worked directly with Bennington's canvas vendor...
Six months. Wow. When you ordered, what was your expected wait time? What was the holdup?
We have a Bennington on order and have been forecasted 8-10 weeks.
I'm sure it will have been worth your wait.
