Cleaning wood (?) trim on dash

Season greetings all! Does anyone have any suggestions on how or what to use to clean the faux wood trim on the console dash? Mine is looking pretty weathered and faded. Thanks, and hope everyone has a Happy Holiday season.

    Water under helm?

Thanks for replying. I didn’t even know what a Wave Shield was until I googled it, saw a video that another Bennington owner posted of one he installed. Is that something that a boat mechanic could fabricate and install? I don’t have the equipment for something like that. No cup holders on...

    Water under helm?

Greetings all! So lately I have noticed that when cruising on the lake that a stream of water starts happening from the driver’s side of the helm; it looks like it’s leaking from the storage area under the console. Possible issue with the under decking, like a crack or hole in the marine...

Increased fuel consumption from fuel/water separator?

I recently had a external fuel/water separator installed on our 2006 2050RL (Yamaha 115 four stroke). Since doing this it seems like the boat is sucking down more gas than before. Am I just imagining this? Other than that it runs fine. Thanks all.

    Good news bad news

Are you meaning the cowling on the motor itself? No audible alarms from the engine at all. The vapor vent line is something that is coming off the fuel tank itself, right? My plan is to have an inline separator filter installed. Thanks for the response.

    Good news bad news

I came across your thread here and maybe I’m having the same issue you were having. We’ll be out on the boat running fine then all of a sudden the motor will act like someone pulled one of the plugs. We have a 2006 2050RL with a Yamaha 115 on it. After the motor sits a little while after...

    Prop pitch/more speed?

If a 10-11” prop is such a bad idea why is this (11”) what Yamaha recommends on their website? If with a standard 13” prop the motor should be exceeding 6000 RPM according to you then you would be exceeding the manufacturer’s recommended operating range, which is 5-6K.

    Prop pitch/more speed?

I have a 2006 2050 RL with a 115 Yamaha running a 13 pitch prop. WOT by myself, smooth lake I get right around 5100 RPM/24 mph. RPM range for the motor is 5-6K, so ideally I’d like to be around 5500. Yamaha prop pitch selector website says after inputting what I’m getting now, and with...

Trim gauge stuck in “up” position

I recently upgraded to a 115 Yamaha 4 stroke from a 50 Yamaha 4 stroke on my 2050RL Bennington. Since the installation the trim gauge is stuck in the full up position. Took it back to the shop and the gauge and the sender unit both checked out fine, but they can’t figure out the issue. Any...

    Tach replacement

My 2006 2050RL is needing a new tach(the current one's RPMs jump all over), but I’m guessing finding a replacement is going to be difficult at best given the age. I pulled the current one out and found these numbers on the housing-780218POFB. Do these mean anything to anyone, like maybe a...

    Engine upgrade possible?

Thanks everyone. I looked at the tag and it read 100 hp, so it looks like a 90 it will be.

    Engine upgrade possible?

New to the pontoon world, purchased a 2006 2050 RL with a Yamaha 50 HP 4 stroke. Runs great but for me seems a little underpowered. Just wondering if anyone can help me with how large can I go on this model? I have seen some sites say 90 HP is max but I have seen other posts that people have...
