Thanks for all your input. I'm going to start thinking about an under skin project for this Fall.

Water coming up from under the decking

Yes I am the original owner of a 2013 24 slx. Calking was used by the dealer last season but he put it in front of the the flashing not directly on the cross member. I hate the thought of giving up the boat for two weeks this season.

Water coming up from under the decking

Dealer put silicone on the out side of the plastic flashing last season. I think I'm going to do it myself this time. (Don't want to give him the boat for two weeks) . No I don't have the under skin but I think if I remove the flashing that's directly in front of the rib and calk the entire...

Water coming up from under the decking

I get a wet spot coming up from under the deck about 1/3 of the way back from the bow. Look from the under side it lines up with one of the cross members. Think there must be a seam in the plywood at that member. Does anyone else have this problem and how did you address it.

    water coming up thru carpet?

Have the same problem with water coming up and soaking the carpet about 1/3 of the way back from the bow. I put her up on the trailer and found the water looks like it coming from under a rib. Must be a seam in the plywood, took her into the dealer and he calked the rib with " marine grade...

    For the dogs

I don't let the dog on the boat without his jacket and it has a handle on the back for easy lifting.

    Docking: Motor Up or Down?

It's a stainless prop, I don't worry too much about electrolysis, none of the slips at our marina have electric.

    Yamaha Extended Service Warranty

Just got a solicitation in the mail from Yamaha for extended service program. (Y.E.S) Parts and labor are covered, no deductible, no paper work, and it's transferable. The price seems steep, $670. for one year, $865 for two or $1070 for three. Has anyone purchased it / used it . Feel free to...

    Docking: Motor Up or Down?

Dealer recommended keeping it down, said it's less of a strain on the pistons. I've had it down for two seasons now, and other than some growth by the end of the season it looks fine. When I get in the water to brush down the toons' I brush the lower section on the outboard.

    captain chair adjustments

Our chair is also too low, there is no up and down adjustment. We use our throwable flotation device ( pillow) to sit on. Or as I tell my wife, If you can't see just stand up.
