My understanding is that the engine data can be seen on any networked device through the NMEA2k backbone but the transducer has to be pugged in direct to the unit (not 100% sure on plugging in) or at least used on one unit at a time. I could be wrong but most discussion on this for the GO...
Half joking...I have the same helm and have looked for after-market glove boxes or similar and didn't see anything I like that I would be willing to cut in. I have looked into another simrad because they network through NMEA2k and can share some data. They will not share maps or sonar but both...
I would but them again. They had some scuffing from our dock (end cuts of cedar) but they wipe off with a rag and water. One photo shows the scuffing and the other after wiping half with minimal effort.
I was hoping you may chime in on this LL. I've looked at your post on your trolling motor mount at least a dozen times. I would like to do the same so that there is nothing mounted to the deck when we're not fishing and can leave the TM at home. I think I will be doing the same thing but...
Congratulations SML happy! I hope you manage to get fish slime all over the boat right away ;)
I have done some looking on this topic as I am thinking about adding a trolling motor as well. The MotorGuide will "talk" with Lowrance and Simrad so you can use the GPS functions to lock the boat in...
I think one of the first two listed on the 10th page - not sure which one but it has temp. Not any of the longer ones but thinking I might switch out to active -imaging.

Just came across this and think I will give it a shot. The only problem is I can't test it for a while...hard water.

I agree but have to assume there's a way to make it work. Maybe a different bracket or something custom. I need to see where the transducer sits in relation to the water when underway at higher speeds. Maybe tape a phone / camera to something to watch it? I haven't found anyone brave / dumb...
Mine is also a factory mounted simrad and I am thinking it looks like yours Hillbilly Barge. It doesn't look like it can go any further...
The depth would cut out around 20 MPH this summer. Did yours as well?
Illinois Ave did you end up doing this? I am think of doing the same thing. I am curious HOW far down to take the transducer. Does anyone have a photo of this complete?
I see what you're saying Vikingstaff. I just checked Michigan wording out of curiosity and MN doesn't have the "as high above the water line as possible" like MI. I have seen the game warden on the lake and haven't been stopped...doesn't mean I wont be. MN regs for reference starting on page...
:D That would be impressive! I didn't get them on until mid-summer so only have three months of use / abuse after the letters went on. That was the only pic (October) I have with the registration numbers. Not sure about Michigan but it's sunny and 80 here in MN today...;)
We did the same area as SEMPERFI but just stuck the vinyl to the skirt. They've only been on for a year (three months up here;)). I can't say anything about durability but know a guy with a print shop so vinyl lettering is cheap.
Congrats Sheltoon! I use Railblaza Pontoon Railmounts and think they are the best option for rails. No holes and they hold tight.
