I have a lead on this boat. Have only seen a few pictures, and don't have any details at this point.

I know it has a 150 Yamaha 4 stroke. He says it is a tri-toon.

My question is - what were the toon options like back in 2010? Same as they are now, with EPS, SPS, etc?

Any comments on these older boats? Worth pursuing if the price and condition are right, or stay away?

Thanks...

Not sure of the options in 2010 but a quick look of the stern will tell if it's the Express tube in the center or a full toon.

Bennington boas are built to last so if it's clean and a good deal, I wouldn't be worried.

The advantage to the pontoons is that they don't have many hidden systems. You don't have to worry about the transom rotting out. The O/B's can easily be inspected. You will know if the vinyl is in good shape. On an 8 year old boat it is all about the condition it is in.

I like the carpet on carpet option....

Here is a picture from underneath boat, on lift. Has full length center tube, and I think that is underskinning betwixt the pontoons.

I am buying the boat. Boat is in really good shape. Hit 5500 RPM's or so, 36 MPH. Ran fine. Interior in great shape. Comes with Hydrohoist that is mine, and 7 months remaining on slip rental. All safety gear, etc. $24K. I am happy with the deal.

We paid a little more for a year newer model earlier this year. Looks like a nice boat! With the slip and hydrohoist, you're getting a great deal. Trailer, too?

OK, spent a few hours on the boat this afternoon. Bottom line, I really like it! Just needs a few details addressed. Throttle cable needs attention, it wants to back off on the throttle by itself. Sea Star hydraulic steering might need a fill and bleeding, and it's a little loose. Not too bad though... I'll probably go ahead and do a maintenance on the motor, even though he says he did one recently.

I really like the optional snap in carpet pieces that he ordered to go on top of the vinyl floor. They are showing a little wear, but replaceable. Definitely cool on the feet!

There's a nut on the back of my throttle that adjusts the tension, if that helps any.

Did you say older boat???

Congratulations! Sounds like a nice boat, and a fair price for it. The other items added in are totally bonuses. Enjoy utilizing it.

Ha! My last two boats were a 1987 Grady White and a 1977 Boston Whaler. The Whaler was 30 years old when I got it...
Wow I thought my 14 yr. old boat was old........ But it's in great shape!

Great looking boat. Congrats.

Congratulations on a very nice find! I can well imagine that it's been difficult to wipe that smile off of your face...

Throttle cable adjustment on that Yamaha is easy. Remove a small plastic cover on the rear of the throttle box, tighten a screw until it stays like it should and replace cover. I did it on the water so I could test after adjustment.
