Thanks again to all who answered. What is your opinions of just plain boards under the pontoons or should there be something on the boards? . As before, thanks in advance.
 
The wood holds water, and in your case salt water. I would look for the plastic bunk slides that have drain slots or holes in them.
 
From your other thread, response from TB .........

PLEASE READ: Use PLASTIC TREAD trailer bunks and/or lift bunks in brackish or salt water environments. Carpeting absorbs the salt and your aluminum pontoons would then sit in it, a big NO NO. The plastic treads divert the saltwater away from the pontoons. (TB didn't know anyone still used carpet, hmmm)
