I was sure I had bad u joints in my Bravo 3 outdrive . I bought new U joints and a gimbal bearing at a cost of over $650
We take the outdrive off. All the bearings are perfect. All the u joints are perfect. As we scratch our heads. We notice the Zurk Fittings on the back of the motor at the motor Input shaft we greased them up and put the outdrive back in the boat. The squeek is gone i
Saved $650 in parts. Wooo hoo!

I had 3 zerk fittings on my old Alpha 1 outdrive. They were greased up every fall as part of the winterization process.

I doubt MrG has ever winterized his boat:)

Well I felt like I was good at Maintance And now i feel pretty stupid. I’ll be sure to grease them up every 100 Hrs like it’s recommended. Any tips to doing it. It was a 2 man job when we did it. I’ll be doing it solo next time
