Has anyone tried to put protection on the actual posts of your lift to protect your Benny while trying to get it into the lift on windy days? I'm just looking for extra protection to prevent the little nicks and dings that might come from everyday use. (other than bubble-wrapping the entire boat! :) ) I searched here and didn't find anything...

I screwed some 2x4’s to the faces of the two outer posts so that if (read:when) I hit them, it avoids metal to metal contact. Seems to work for me. It’s a Hewitt vertical lift.

I just use large pvc pipe over the cables on my lift. Works fine, no dings after two years use on current boat and 5 on last one.
