I will not over - react this time (lol)

My Boat was delivered and as usual brought to my dock and secured.

I paid for winterizing, pontoon cleaning, etc. and delivery

The delivery personnel left

Upon inspection of "Benny"

I couldn't help but noticing the rear cleat on boat was at a 45 degree angle !!

Curious if I can repair myself , even though I know warranty will handle it

There should be 2 bolts that go through the deck ,if it is turned .Did the bolt snap or bend, damaging the deck in the process ?

Hard to imagine how that could happen.

Someone drove away with it tied to the dock?

You mean it's tilted, right?  Not turned?  I swear I've seen some pics of cleats on deck corners that are turned 45 degrees, and they are designed that way.  See if the other cleats are like that..

I saw one on the dealers display table yesterday ,it was at a 45, on a corner cap  .

Even if tilted it may have elongated the through holes .

That's the one. It was a corner cap that I recall seeing.

The cleats go threw the deck and clamp down. The floor is wood. I have found the holes that the cleats slide threw are some what oversized.  So if the cleat is anywhere close to loose then it wouldn't take to much to turn them sideways. The only thing that could suck is if the cleat got yanked on and screwed up the holes and made them larger and hogged out. This of corse could be fixed with a backing plate. Stock bennington just uses 2 large washers. But if you had a Aluminum backing plate it would be a bit more solid.  Sounds like an easy fix no big deal

OK

Thank you for your patience , we had rain today here

Pontoon was delivered to me without even a call

I just happened to be home when personnel drove trailer to house and walked in yard as I spotted him to go down to dock

I said what are you doing he said we have your boat

I said why didnt you call

He said we are really busy

WTH ? Call me enroute you have my cell number

Like I said with warranty no need to be upset . I pray

1st pic is a Bow cleat ,next 2 look like stern corner cleats ( like I saw yesterday at the dealer )

My opinion is you are good to go

Is it possible they upgraded them ?

Are the port and starboard the same ? Bow and Stern ?

If nothing is damaged I am ok with the look

I was worried that the bolt or whatever was damaged

I can live with the angle if it was upgraded

I am searching pics to see if I have a close up of rear cleat

If the other cleat on rear is identical I have no problem

i will go down to pontoon if the other rear cleat matches it I have no problem

BRB Jack

Here is picture from last year

Cleat is on angle on one side

I never noticed not sure why

The side it is tied to dock is angled

Would Bennington angle just one side ?
