Cleats On Pontoon

I am on a private Lake only one driving pontoon

Our Lake Is Not Like Great Lakes

Could it be I am tying to tight and pulled rear only ??

Seems strange that only one side is angled right ??

The cleat it self looks parallel  with the bolt location .

Here is another pic

Same side

Cleat looks like it is at a 180

So this is the side that is angled at present

The end of season I will have dealer take a look

Do you think I could harm anything by using as is

Perhaps I should show dealer now

Hate to give the Boat up for minor repair if minor indeed

Boating Season Is Just Getting Under Way

It's a mystery, wish I had an answer for you.

Do you think one bolt broke and it rotated on the other good bolt?  Maybe even tightening it if it rotated the right way?

Just throwing out possibilities.

I looked at your picture as tightly as possible. The front horn looks longer than the rear. If you look at my picture, you get the same impression. It may have been angled last year.

Take a long handle, careful not to scratch anything, pace it through the eye of the cleat like a lever, and see if it moves when you pull or push it gently.  You should also see a ghost image of where the cleat "was" if it moved.

They are different style cleats ,Chucks are 4 bolt ,yours are 2

I appreciate all the help, weather is still not ideal but I will go down to the dock and see after I remove tie on if cleat is able to be moved by hand at least. It  seems strange that it would occur but I do feel confidant that it will be repaired under warranty if need be.

If loose I will see if I have access to bolts and may be able to tighten myself.

Strange that it would occur like I said on a small private Lake the current during the summer is seldom strong even during storms, the winter well the winds across the Lake are Brutal.

Strange but the mystery is solved I guess

Best news is I have nothing to worry about apparently

AS shown I have pics showing cleats when viewing Boat originally

The cleats in rear appear to be straight

Guess I was wrong

So Both Rear Cleats Are Angled and Not Loose

I need to clean rails etc

Wanted dealer to clean but was told by the time boat got here uncovered it would need cleaned again

So I will be wiping the rails down with water and vinegar

Clean upholstery and carpet as well

They transport boat after cleaning without cover dust from road construction is all over interior so I get the pleasure of cleaning

Usually not a problem but with some health issues a burden

Good News Is The Benny is Perfect

Though No Explanation

Hey Pittsburgh, just so you know, the only thing holding the stainless cap on is the cleat. 2 years ago, I replaced 1 cleat because I rubbed a dock and I thought I bent the cleat. Turns out I had bent the stainless cap. 1 of the studs bent and broke the cleat. I straightened the cap with a 20 lb. sledge and bought a set of cleats on Amazon. The cleats were for a 4Winns speed boat but were exactly the same except for the stud size. Bennington used a bigger stud so I drilled and tapped the new cleat and installed larger studs. Those rear cleat nuts are a real bitch to get to, glad you didn't  have to deal with that.

What I Like About Bennington Most Is Their Warranty and Guarantee

In My Opinion The Best In The Industry

The Same Warranty For The Q - Series to The Basic S- Series (which is what I have)

Knowing It Would of Been Repaired Kept Me Happy and Cool
