Complete Noob with Bennington Fever

We love our covered lift for several reasons. Our boat and the dock can be made to the same height making boarding easier and safer for all, boat doesn’t bang into dock when jet skis/boaters speed buy, our toons stay clean, furniture out of weather, much easier to put the cover on.
 
I agree with Shmily and I would look around at the boats docked at the houses near yours. That would be a good indication of the type of boat that would probably serve your needs and be the best choice. Regardless of the boat, a lift is a must have. I would not favor a pontoon for the uses you have expressed.
