Has anyone found a way to dim the light on the KMC1. It’s too bright for running at night.

I use a towel! Not kidding!

It's funny how they went out of their way to make the gauges SO INCREDIBLY DIM yet they put a Las Vegas Pyramid Casino light shining up in your face. At least the GPS TRIES to be dim!

The orange wire needs to be connected to your lights to dim it.

I have a S model so no dimmer switch for the lights. The gauge lights are good, the gps/sounder, I can dim, but that Kicker is blinding

When the orange wire see voltage (turning your nav lights on) it will dim the screen. It has nothing to do with a dimmer.

Thanks cwag911, I’ll give that a try. I wonder why Bennington doesn’t hook it up.
For the same reason they don't unwind the antenna wire...…..it takes time.

I just looked at the Kicker website and there is no kmc1. There is a 2, 19 and 20. Which do you have?
This is from the manual for a kmc 10.

I have a KCM1 I’m sure now that it’s discontinued. I called Kicker Technical Services and he told me the KMC1 and KMC2 does not have any way to dim the display. His suggestion was to go to a window tenting Shop an get a scrap piece of the tent film and cut off to fit the display.

I too have a KCM1, says right on the front of the radio. I also went to the kicker web site and only saw the KCM2 model there. Maybe these are leftovers from a the previous model?
