Don't Blow up your boat

How could I be so Dumb? I couldn't believe that I hadn't thought of this before, being super cautious. Our 2011 2574 GCW with 250hp Vmax has a pathetically small 25gal? tank. The Vmax can empty that fast. I had a couple of 5 gal spares and thought that I could stow them in the center bilge as spares. Here in Fla heat they vent a lot of light ends. As I was placing them down there I suddenly considered that the bilge pump is probably not intrinsically safe, which means that when it comes on it could light off the gasoline vapors in that enclosed space. A very bad situation.
I'm sure that everyone has already considered this...but just in case.

Nice catch! Sometimes we can get so fixated on our solution that we fail to think through all possible ramifications. BTW, what size prop are you running?

I would have to take a look, but it is the standard 3 blade prop that comes on the Yamaha VMax 250hp. If I get a chance, i will check it out.
