I just purchased a Bennington Tritoon and was really thinking about adding a second bimini. What are the pluses and minuses.

I have had so many skin cancer surgeries I've lost count. 25 plus. Double bimini for full shade when needed is mandatory. You think it can't happen to you when you're young, then reality sets in.

Welcome HT! Post some pictures when you can. As for the double bimini, do a search at the top and I think you'll find there is quite a bit of information regarding same.

When we decided to buy our current boat that was the 1st option we talked about. Like BigD my wife has had skin cancer so a double Bimini was a no brainer. Just love the total shade everywhere on the boat. For us there are no minuses......

Our first option we chose when we bought! Here it is prior to rigging the fabric. I can always not deploy it, or lay it down on the front rails if I want. An easy $1,300 upgrade decision!

Here is my double bimini with enclosure. The windows are a Vistaweave 99 mesh which allows for good air circulation and great UV protection. No skin cancers here. All windows are completely zipped and can be rolled up. Will be delivered tomorrow. Long wait, ordered in July 2020 but I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait.

Kozzie2020 - did you get that enclosure from Bennington - my wife and I have been talking about getting an enclosure and were thinking of getting a local place to make it.

Large fair skinned Irish family. Double Bimini was mandatory

Kozzie looks great! Curious to see why the front and back aren't also
clear plastic so you would be able to at least put it in gear and slow idle cruise around........

An enclosure wasn’t an option with Bennington when I ordered my boat.
I had the Bimini and enclosure made here in Australia.

Hi Big Kahuna, Finally took delivery of our boat today. The family is very excited.

Water temp 26.9 degrees Celsius/ 81 degrees fahrenheit. Just rubbing it in. I see and hear much of the US is experiencing extreme cold. Unbelievable footage.

I used the solid end covers to protect the inside from UV and rain. I will use these covers during the week and have them off all weekend. The windows are made from 99% grey mesh not vinyl clears.

Congrats to you and your family! Looks great! Our weather here in North Carolina is not so bad as the majority of our country. We are in the upper 40s to mid 50s and haven't had any accumulation of snow. C'mon spring!!!

That’s a cool set up Kozzie! Glad you were able to get something custom made. Your pictures might help others general some ideas for their own custom made set ups. Enjoy your new boat.
