Well I’ve been wanting to replace the fencing on my old 2001 Bennington 2575 FS for quite a while now and just finished it up. And yes it was a lot of work! I bought the boat 3 years ago as a fixer upper and this was my last big ticket item to fix. My boat was the older style with the panels on the outside being held in place with a thin aluminum lip on the top, bottom and both ends. I bent the lips out to remove the old panels and they just started cracking at the seams. At that point I decided I would remove the outside lips on the whole boat and move the new panels to the inside like the new boats. To me it looks better and is also more protected. We went with a color called caribou brown and really like it. I know it would have cost me a fortune to have the job done, but I feel good knowing I did it myself and have some sweat equity invested!

Wow, depending on what you paid, a little TLC and you got a boat that looks like new! Awesome job!!

Wow! That looks like it took some serious work, but what a great pay off for it. It looks fabulous! I like that in replacing so much you really gave it a much more new and modern look. Now go enjoy the fruits of your labor. She’s a beauty!!!

What they said above! Enjoy...

Looks great and brings back memories of my old 2001 2250 LX.

Can I get fencing directly from Bennington? Even for an older pontoon? 2009

I’m not sure about that. I ordered mine from a company in Indiana. It came in 16 foot rolls that were 22 inches wide. I had to cut down each piece. It’s a lot of work.

How did you fasten the panels to the inside?

Looks great! Now you have to change your mooring cover to match. Ha!

I used rivets on the inside. As far as the cover goes, I got lucky and found that one brand new on eBay for a steal. Just had to take it to my canvas guy to add the cutouts for the front bimini and then add the snaps. The boat turned out great and gets tons of compliments but I’m really wanting a tritoon now.

It does look good. I have the smaller 2050lx that I want to re fence. Any chance you can post a pic of the inside of the gate, showing how it looks riveted? Thanks.20190810_154739.jpg

That looks great!
In MN, I noticed a Craigslist posting for a full set of railings for a Bennington 2575 RCW with lounge back layout including rub rails, playpen cover and bimini frame. I am not the seller, but interesting listing for someone looking for upgrade.

Looks great! Did you have to remove seat to remove forward rail on starboard side?

Here’s a few I took today
