Fuel gauge pegs

I have a 24 SL, after putting the boat in the water this year the fuel gauge is pegged above full and never moves. How to access the sender? Any other possible reasons?

What model of boat and or where is your tank. Sending units in tank.

My 24SSL has a screw on cover in the floor of the rear deck (just in front of the motor) to access the sending unit. It's about 6 inches in diameter. It has indentations for your fingers to grab.
