I seem to run out of fuel after about 11-12 gallons of consumption. The gauge reads about 1/2 tank which makes sense if I in fact have a 21.4 gallon tank which is what I think the spec is.
1) Is it possible I only have a 12 gallon tank?
2) It acts like there could be a failed fuel pick up I am guessing about 1/2 way down in to the tank. If it sucks air at that point, the motor stalls. I have a Yamaha 70 4 Stroke so its pretty efficient. I checked all lines and the ball, all seem like new and in good condition inside and out. If I blow on the fuel line back to the tank, I could hear "air" I put a gallon of gas in and then blew again, hear "bubbles" I suspect each condition would make sense in either scenario.
Anyone have any ideas before I lose my shirt at a marina dropping the tank since you cannot access it from the deck (other than a tiny 6" access panel)
