I have a Racor fuel/water separator with the clear bowl.  The clear bowl was almost impossible to remove from the old cartridge.  Is there anything that can be put on the threads to make it easier to remove in the future?

I did search of this site and found where cwag911 had recommended anti-seize.  I have used that on many metal components in the past, but never on plastics.  Carl will the plastic stand up to this product?  The stuff I have is an industrial grade copper-based product.  Would that be OK to use, or should I get some of the silver variety?

I also have some "Jack's Lube" which I use for the fittings in the swimming pool. While this works real well for the filter gasket, I am not sure if it would hold up to the gasoline.

Would white lithium grease work?

That's funny, I just installed one of those on our boat . I used silicone grease for the plastic bowl and never-seize on the filter to the metal bracket. I think the stuff for the pool fittings would work also.

Are you trying to take it off by hand or do you have a strap wrench?
