how fast should i go

Prop slip is a catorgorized subject....Prop slip is effected by several variables. Dirty water and increased wetted running surface will cause a high slip number. Prop slip % is NOT a linear number, speed or lack thereof will cause ever changing numbers.... Further, shelf item prop selection is limited for pontoons. Then there is wind resistance, weight, CG and etc.

Just noticed this thread as a quote in another. My 2574GLi with Merc Verado 250 Pro clocks 51.0 GPS mph and still turns 6360rpm, with awesome holeshot. Maybe yours was not optimized with motor height or prop?

ericsher, Thanks for the info....I stand corrected, w/the 250 we "Did" get over 50....Behind the pickup !! LOL

BTW, what are best numbers for the 300's and 350 ??? With or without a jack plate ? Propped and tuned to run.
