Looking for Furnace and central air advice guys.

I am gearing up for a huge home improvement project and am down to 2 choices for choosing my contractor for a new furnace and central air unit.

Question comes down to which is the better brand between the 2 choices

Heil or tempstar?

These 2 contractors are only a couple hundred dollars apart for there bids and these are the brands they sell.

looking for advice as to which is best?

Any help appreciated.

Try asking on DIYchatroom.com or you could do a search on contractortalk.com, don't join and post on that site. It's for contractors only and they are good at sniffing out homeowners.

Asked a buddy in the hvac biz, he said Heil uses proprietary parts, meaning service down the road can get expensive, Tempstar uses more 'off the shelf' components, making them easier to service. He also said they are both good units, so it comes down to warranty and serviceability. Hope this helps!
