I have a 2007 2075fsi with 23" toons. It came with an etc 60hp and a few weeks ago the fuse blew and continues to blow when you turn the switch. There are no certified Evinrude service dealers close to my home town and Evinrude has recently announced they have discontinued making outboard motors. I am thinking about upgrading to a 90hp 4-stroke and was wondering if it was a good idea because of the age of the boat?

As long as it’s rated for a 90hp I dont see why not. 13 years old is nothing.

Try and find a marine mechanic locally...must be someone around...is there an evinrude forum? Hate to scrap a motor due to a fuse blowing...I priced out a merc repower prior to deciding to go new...$7000 for a 40hp merc 4 stroke..you'll need new controls too...add another $600+ good luck

There are lot of Evinrude forums ,here is one .
.

Another thing to consider is , switching brands you may have to change the controls .
There should be stickers with your capacity's next to your captains chair .
If it has been removed ,you can contact Bennington with your hull ID and they can give you the information .
