Navigational lights

You should be able to take the lights apart and change the bulbs. I tried that with mine and once I had it apart decided to just replace the whole light with an LED fixture. Took a little engineering to get the new ones on as the screw holes didn’t line up. But I made it work.
 
Yes, switch the leads if you can.
 
Thank you. What I’m trying to find out is if you have to take the whole unit off from the boat or can you just take the small light section off? I cannot find how to do it in the manual. Also what kind of LED light do I purchase to replace it with?
 
Yes, I had to take the whole trim piece off to get to the nuts to take the light apart. It came apart easily, 2 bolts and whole unit lifts up. You may need to give a little slack in the wiring also. Should be a festoon type bulb. They sell LED replacements for them. As far as the replacement fixture, I bought it off Amazon.
