This is our first pontoon and getting used to the motor. We have the 115hp Yamaha and the issue is that the reverse seems to not engage until it's way down. It engages fine going forward but when we need to reverse it, it seems to take forever. Is there something wrong or is this normal? Is there a way to adjust this?

Notify your dealer. Should go into reverse about the same distance as forward.

I called them and yes, he said to bring it in, it shouldn't be doing that. Its a bit of a hike, with trailering that big honking thing down the Dallas freeways, so will wait til our new live well comes in and do it all at the same time. Our front live well has a hole in it and leaks.
