Q series drivers captains chair raising and lowering

Can someone tell me the proper way to raise of lower the Captains chair on the q 2552. I can do the recline no problem but when it comes to raising and lowering the one handle seems to be real loose. Can you raise the chair while sitting on it or whats the proper method. Probably very easy just maybe im doing something wrong. Any help appreciated

The chair won't go up when you're sitting on it. It will only go down. Stand up off the chair and lift the same lever, and it should go up.

Bennington did not offer the adjustable helm for years because of failures of the system. i think they started offering it again a few years ago.
