Rope around Prop

Motor wont start just clicks plenty of power we got a rope around prop starters working some say it may be the relay quit working any suggestions on what to check next or has anyone made this mistake and what was the outcome ? Thanks

Can you turn the prop by hand? The lower unit might be locked up.

Can you turn the prop by hand? The lower unit might be locked up .Prop turns freely no resistance at all, seems almost too easy

Was brushes in the starter. Probably rope put the strain on the starter.
