Simrad G05 Waypoint alarm

How well does the Simrad waypoint alarm work? I ordered the G05 specifically for this option. I need to mark the tunnel on our lake with a radius to ALARM me to put the Bimini top down! The boat definitely won’t fit in the tunnel with it up!

I have the G05. The owners manual is garbage. I grabbed the resident expert at a local West Marine for general knowledge. Good luck

Here’s the manual. I personally wouldn’t call it garbage but lots of info and geared towards an experienced “electronics” boater. I seldom looked at the manual and just keep messing with settings. Bear in mind I think it only holds settings for so long if you have a battery switch so might want to think about a backup power source for it. I like mine very much EXCEPT for fishing. Symbols are very small but it’s useable. Tons of info and you can NMEA with it for motor info, fuel level (sender change may be needed), etc ...
