Looking at a 2004 2275 LX without lifting strakes. It is has a 4 stroke Johnson 150 on it. Can anybody tell me what speed I could expect with 2-4 adults? Thanks

Twenty-something. Probably mid-to-high 20's.

I was really hoping to hear low to mid 30's as the salesman stated, but I figured he was padding the #'s.

Thanks for the reply

Johnson never made a 150hp 4 stroke. Better check that.

Being an LX model and a 150hp, I'd say 30-32mph is a safe bet. We have a friend with a 25 footer (2 tuber) with a 115 Johnson (Suzuki)4 stroke that runs a consistent 28-29mph with 4-6 people on board.

140hp. For some reason I keep wanting to say 150. We are taking it out Friday to see how it does and then making the purchase.

The Johnson 140 four stroke (Suzuki DF140) is an excellent motor and will make you very happy. IMO, the Suzuki 4 strokes are the cream of the crop for trouble free operation. The 140 is a smooth and quiet runner. It is, however, on the bottom side of the hp percentage rule. Dyno results show between 126-130hp. The 115 is an overachiever and the 140 to the contrary. The performance advantage is slight. I think 30 mph is a solid number. The 140hp on a both a 20 or 22RL tritoon will run 36-38 mph.
