Something is up with my tach. Lately when I start out in an idle zone my tach jumps between 2000 to 3000 RPM although there is no change in the motor sound. When I get to open waters the tach normally would read 6200rpm but it jumps between 6000 to past 7000 and again the sound of the motor does not change. After about 15 minutes of jumping up and down it than settles down and reads correctly the rest of the time I'm out boating. Is there a test I can do to determine if it is the tach gauge or the tach sensor in the motor?????
