New fish finder install

Have you had any issues with this? I want to do this with my Lowrance HDS7 but the place I purchased the boat from won't because they are scared of it cracking or not supporting the weight of the fish finder well and not being covered under warranty.

I have not had any issues, I also installed one the same way on my 2014 Benny too. 


For your Lowrance you might want to go to the next size ram mount mine does wobble a little, but does not flex the fiberglass.


I will probably up size mine. I also would not be worried about the warranty and in my opinion 


it will support it just fine. 

Well they are kind of pissing me off because before I bought the boat it was "all yeah that will be no problem.. blah blah blah" even when I told them what fish finder I had (I didn't bring it up there though) and now they are like "this will void the helm warranty" and "it may crack and not be under warranty".


Have you ever thought about connecting the NMEA interface from your engine to your fish finder? It would give more information than the guages we have so I'm almost thinking about mounting it in the center in front of the guages

I had a shop finish the center piece for me! Now i'm just trying to get the people to run the NMEA stuff. My dealer told me they didn't want to do the NMEA stuff (was too custom for them apparently).
