I think that's a great decision on the sea legs. You want to be able to go from your dock onto your pontoon without getting into the water, especially in the spring and fall.
There are also a couple of Benningtons with Sea Legs at the south shore sandbar. I know one owner wasn't happy with them because it didn't raise his pontoon high enough out of the water for the high winds when he docked it in front of his house.
Hope your delivery date works out better than mine. We were supposed to get ours in mid-May. I actually shook hands with the Bennington rep that if I committed that day I would have our boat before Memorial Day, "no problem". Well, here we are on June 19th and can't even get an estimate of...
We're on Houghton Lake. We were in the north bay when our dock washed away. It was a wood dock and we recovered it but the supports were all bent.
We have a MADS dock now, I believe this is our fourth year with the dock and we've been very pleased. We are on the east shore so the waves can...
Do you have augers for your dock? The water level is pretty high and I had a dock wash away when it got rough but it was just setting on the bottom and not screwed in.
Thanks again for all the great comments. I stayed with the 250 hp and went with the raised helm. It sounds like some of you might be on Houghton Lake. Look me up at the sand bar if you get a chance, I'll be in the sunset red 25RSB with the Havana accent stripe.
I was just up there tonight and saw this. Guy at the hardware store told me that the wind had shifted and they were starting to get some pile up on Long Point.
Thanks for all the great comments and input! We will probably go with the raised helm, you people wore me down :) . Thanks for looking out for my best interests. I'm also going to price out a bigger motor.
Thanks for all the great comments! We're going to go with the curved bimini. You guys are really making it hard on me regarding the raised helm ^_^ I'm going to have to think a little more about that.
Thanks for the feedback, it is very helpful. It sounds like I'm good on the HP, over 40 mph will be fast enough. I was thinking about the raised helm, I'm 6'6" and I felt a little too high so I went with the adjustable seat instead.
Thanks for all the great comments and reviews on options on this board. I'm getting ready to finalize by order on a 25RSB and would be interested in anyone's thoughts on what I left off or included but don't need. The summary is:
Sunset red with black upper accent stripe, Tuscan Dune interior...
