Bennington pontoon motor swap

Bought a 2011 Bennington pontoon that came with a Yamaha 90hp 4 cycle motor. Want to replace the Yamaha motor with a 2002 Honda BF130A motor. Is it possible to splice the Honda control cable wires to the Yamaha top mount control box cable wires?
