Suppose there are varying opinions on this. What are your recommendations on impeller replacement. 2 full seasons on my Yamaha 150. 42 hrs, Kept on trailer indoor valet service. Marina recommends every other year.
I had the 20 hour service last September at layup. They seem to be on a every 2 year schedule no matter the hrs. I’m
looking at over $800.00 for the summerizing, impeller and drive oil change. Im at their mercy for the most part.
I have no Idea. They winterize in the fall and do a summerization before launch in spring. $300.00 and $189.00. They run it both times so who Knows. I always keep an eye on the weep hole output, it was fine last September before layup.
I have a 2022 Bennington with a Yamaha 150. This is the first outboard Ive had in 35 years on the Illinois Chain O lakes. Three IOs previously.
Also this is the first boat I have not kept at home and serviced myself, we moved from our farm to a neighborhood. No boats allowed on trailers.
So now...
50 amp breaker mounted next to battery switch. They can trip for a good or no good reason. Just reset and go on. Each time it trips it takes less to trip it the next time, efficiency drops off slightly. Also 40 amp fuses inside cover of pump. Same deal, may or may not be a recurring issue...
If I could depend on my dealer I would. Called Garmen customer service got info to fix. Also had my Seastar hydraulic PS pump stop working, at 7hrs. Dealer to busy to look at it right away, " you can still use it." Called Dometic tech service, in 15 minutes had the info to repair it. ordered...
I have a Garmen unit in my dash that gives me most of my readings. I can not get it to startup at times, screen dark/ blank. last season someone from the marina would futs with it until it woke up. Any ideas why it would act up like this at times?
Mine is launched and retrieved from my trailer a their private ramp. It got moved around alot over the layup, warranty work. Not totally surprised, but disappointed at their response. That what insurance is for if it’s really bad.
It stays at the dealer/marina. Its in valet service. Nice setup, we plug in an open launch time and when we return. Just took this incident to show the limitations of their concern if something goes wrong. Thanks all.
Offered nothing. Initially blamed me. Not good. I have no option. Can’t tow it now, they are my only option for warranty care. All other aspects of housing it there
have been acceptable.

The launches are all recorded on Speedy dock. Sept 9th 2022 was last day used. iPhone photo gallery of entire boat Sept 24th ( electronic date recorded) when it was on trailer to be winterized. They said they’d make a much larger mark trying to buff it some.
