I realize that this is an old post. However I found it because I want to add/use spring lines. Is there a specific name for those U brckets? They have a bend in them so they look special. Are these available Amazon or pretty much need to get from Bennington. Thanks
Thanks for the photo I have long fenders like you and round fenders or balls. I depends on the situation and what is planned for the day. Rafting to other pontoons aand floating docks I like the round fenders because they sit between the tubes and the deck and keep the boat off of either. 15...
I have a 22LX and have the same question. While the XL will surely fit the lg should cover most of the area. Like said above it is a “Dust Cover” it should keep most of the stuff out even sized as a large.
All good stuff. So most of us boat with our spouses, we drive they handle lines and fenders. My wife has lines installed on all 4 corners of the boat. Last night I showed my wife the EZ Fenders mounts and explained how they work. She had nothing positive to say! First she said she would trip...
Proves you get what you pay for! I like the Extreame Max with the jam cleat however you need to use smaller line. However I still like Jacks mount. Nothing to fail, no additional hardware.
Ok I went to the boat and checked. First I apologize to Taylor Fender since the broken hangers are not theirs. I am cheap and did not want to spend the $$. The ones that have broken for me are made by Boatecter Extreme Max. In particular the ones without the jam cleat. I have theirs with the jam...
Yes I always take my fenders off. I am an old sailor and always notice other boats with them flapping in the breeze. The clips are only used while away, not at my home dock. Like restaurant visits and outings. I have several with the jam cleat and some without. I am going to check Taylor or not...
I am in Florida not quite 110. The fenders are olny on my boat when docked some place, but not at home, so mine do not sit in the sun. I have found several different manufactures of the similar nylon or plastic product. I thought the Taylor product would be better but not. I think the material...
Thanks Jack. These really look like great quality. I would be concerned that they could tear up a braided line as the point of the screw pierces the line. I am sure the bitter end of the line also needs to be whipped so that it is easily inserted into the hole.
Trying to tie fenders on my Bennington is a challenge. I have been using the plastic clips that fit over the rail however they break and when they break unexpectedly hopefullly your fender does not float away. I saw a pontoon boat that had what appears to be these PHENDER holders...
I just heard about them this past weekend from another pontoon owner. I was interested because I am looking for a lightweight temp cover for overnight mooring. Today he told me he ordered one. So I will have an opportunity to at lest see it. Why I question is that it is quoting UPF rating which...
REaly think about how you are really going to use the boat and how many people will be on it, how fast you want to go (skiing). Consider finding friends and see if they want to upgrade their boat and sell you theirs. You will get a lot of opinions on this site.
It always depends on your docking situation. Remember other than at home you need space on the boat to carry them. I carry raw long ones as Jack shared plus I carry two 18 in round Taylor fenders. They nest real nice between the deck and pontoon and keep the boat away from stuff.
I have the same setup. I understand your concern. However your lower unit on your motor is lower! I would be more worried about that. Also you may want to go slower in shallower water. You more than likely will be raising your motor and just being more careful anyway. One thing to take a look at...
