That's what I said! I was expecting around $1200-1500 range. I'll be getting more bids for sure.
Odds are, I will end up hiring some cheap labor to do it. I don't think it is rocket science. ;)
I started to get bids on ours... Was shocked at the first bid - $4400 for just 40'x6'
Of course, that included grading the area in front of the water, fabric, etc - but still! the builder of our house had a geotextile lake bottom installed (about 1600 sq ft of our beach front) for approx. that...
This one is a Yamaha Reliance. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture.
a separate question: how can you tell the size and pitch of a prop? I have an extra one off my old Sea Ray - but I have not idea what the size is. Do they universally fit motors?
This may sound like a stupid question, but do all stainless steel props look like stainless steel? Or do some props (this one is on a yamaha 150) look almost painted? My Bennington saleman said that it was stainless when I asked, but I am still questioning it.
ok. So I think we are likely to go with the 2550 GSR demo. w/150HP Yamaha
The boat is well equipped and we are getting it at about 65% of MSRP (since it was a demo).
The salesman convinced me that we could always come back to put an elliptical toon on if we needed to later.
Its a huge boat...
Thanks guys! Who knew a pontoon would be so tough to decide on. We would love a tri R, its just not in the budget. Given that I only ski about 5 times per year, I think we are deciding on the bigger, nicer pontoon.
We are being offered a very good deal on his demo that fits the bill for us...
