Yes from what it seems. I know I could just recover my current boards as the wood is in good condition, just not sure how long that would last. My previous toon has the plastic in which you're talking about and I had good luck with that stuff, although it was a much smaller and lighter toon.

My toon was originally configured with a TP prop. Performance wasn't great at all. I changed it out to a Merc Enertia Prop and the difference was night and day.

Did you ever find a solution? I'm currently going through the same thing, however I have the Echomap 50s. Everything but the maps functions on this unit which is frustrating.
