I am a new owner of a 2015 22 SCWX with SPS, 150 Yamaha, Smokey Grey sides, and Platinum Seagrass. It came into the dealer and I had a chance to inspect it today. Boat looks great but the sealed strakes are not what I expected.

I ordered the boat specifically for use in Florida in salt water. I did not see a way to order as a "saltwater series" so worked with the dealer to order everything to make it salt water ready including anodes and sealed strakes.

When I saw the boat today I was surprised it had spot welds on the top and bottom of the sealed strakes. I expected full length welds to make it water proof to keep out salt water. I don't see how it will keep out salt water with the spot welds.

Can the forum provide advice on how this should have come with the sealed strakes option ? Should it be spot welded or full length ? If spot how does it keep the salt water out of the strake ?

For those that have the "salt water series" Benningtons how does the sealed strake come, spot or full length weld ?

Thank you

As long as the ends of the strakes are solid, you have sealed strakes. You can see how mine in the photo below is solid.

Thank you, sorry I did not see the prior post on this topic, appreciate the assist.  Looks like I am in good shape with the sealed strakes being 3 sided, then spot welded to the pontoons.

Excited to try out the boat on the water this Friday !
