2015 2275 GCW Yamaha F-150LB Motor Trim Gauge Not Working Properly?

New boat, gauge was working properly when boat was delivered, has 3 hours on it now.  Gauge stays close to pegged on the right side,"up" position, moves very slightly farther up when trim button pushed full "up". Motor does trim up and down ok except the gauge indicator is not working correctly.. What might be the likely problem with this?

Call your dealer first, make arrangments to get it over to them when they can get you in and out quickly. This is not the time of year to have your toon sitting at the dealer for repairs.

I'm guessing the trim  sending unit did not get tightend properly during the engine install, and should be a quick fix.
