What’s everyone getting for speeds on there 23 foot tritoons with Yamaha f150’s?

I’ve got a 2020 with a 2022 Yamaha f150 and only getting around 24 mph with a Yamaha reliance 14 pitch prop. I’m not unhappy with speed just seems everyone else is faster..

I previously owned a 23 ft with a Mercury 150 , I was able to get 34-35 .
Full Tank , 2 adults and clean toons .15X15 Enertia Prop

Out of curiosity, what specific Bennington tritoon hull do you have? SPS? ESP?

The reliance is not a great prop IMHO. I would switch to a SWSII or Enertia. We love our Enertia prop. If you go that route, you will need to get a hub kit for your Yamaha. That said, you should be in the mid-30’s pretty easily with that boat.

So… additional information is needed. What are your RPM’s at WOT with a light load on calm water? Has it always run this slow? Again, you should easily be mid-30’s mph at WOT with that set up. RPM’s at WOT helps narrow some factors down. If it has always been this slow, I would guess either prop (again, not a good pontoon performance prop currently) or prop and motor depth issue. If it used to be faster, but has slowed gradually over time, then…

Are your pontoons dirty? Dirty pontoons are usually the #1 factor on a boat that is getting a few years old and slowing down. It can have a major impact. If this slower speed is newer, it almost always is either dirty pontoons and/or water getting into a pontoon.
