Was looking at the title to my boat and just noticed that it states hull material as "Fiberglass". When I bought the boat new the dealer handled all of the documentation including titling with DWR.
Just wondering if that is common and/or why would it not state aluminum?
Thanks.bennington title snip.JPG

I would say a mistake by your SOS. I sold a 2020 in 2021 it's still showing that I own it . I called the SOS they said don't worry about it ,but obviously the new owner did not transfer the title. I would call , in Michigan for example , a pontoon registration is a lot less than a conventional boat. They do make mistakes.

I think 1 of either 2 things as some stats are quirky with title/registration categories. Like in Michigan where you get SUV’s registered as station wagons due to outdated default settings with SoS.

I think it is either what Jack said above: title mistake. Or perhaps fiberglass is simply the default setting in their system for any sort of “boat”. Either way, it wouldn’t hurt to reach out, and if it can be corrected, get it taken care of.
