There is an alarm sounding every time we push the throttle on our 2005 bennington 2575..it actually slows the boat down, apparently to protect the motor...anyone have any ideas?

What motor do you have?!? My Mercruiser has the Guardian system that protects the engine from low oil pressure, low voltage, over rev, high coolant temps, and low outdrive fluid levels. An alarm will sound if any of these situations exist............
I had an alarm go off last week on my Yamaha 150. It was the same sound as if you didn't put the lanyard in when starting the boat. After searching for a while i think my water intake was plugged because i park in a canal with some nasty water. Once i cleaned that off I was good to go.
