Hello,
Does anyone have advice for this problem

I just put my boat back in the water last week. I noticed the bilge pump wasn't working and discovered the fuse for it had blown. I replaced it and it worked for awhile but after turning off and back on a few times it blew the fuse again. The problem is repeatable but the pump does work. Once it is running it seems fine until I shut it off and turn it back on.

Does this sound like the bilge pump is going bad or something else?

Can I safely increase the fuse size to 5 or 6 amp? There is currently a 3amp fuse on the line.

If you think I need a new pump can someone tell me which one I need? I attached a couple pictures of the current one.

Any guidance would be helpful.

The pump is going bad, the bushings might be going bad and the startup is drawing to many amps . Increasing the fuse size could overload the wires and they become the new fuse after they melt. Good news is it is accessible. Get some dawn and scrub the pump, you might get the brand name.
