We're so excited, ordered our second pontoon, first Benny, a few weeks ago. Now we just have to wait for the lake to melt and the boat to be delivered. One of the options we were hoping for was an extended Bimini to cover the back seats of the boat. At the boat show we talked with a Bennington engineer that thought it might be possible for a custom design, but heard back last week it's a no-go. So we're looking for alternatives to cover the back for sun but especially in rain. We're die hard tooners and don't usually let a little summer shower stop us, but also don't want water pouring down our backs. Doing some digging online I found some plastic Bimini clips that may work to hold a vinyl sheet that might deflect the rain off the back. They come in either 1 inch or 1 1/4 inch sizes. I see the rails are 1 1/4 inch but how about the Bimini support - is that the same? Does anyone have any other suggestion for shielding the back of the boat from light rain? Our Benny is a 2250 GSR.

I think the bimini frame structures are 1 1/4" as well. If memory serves me correctly it is the same size as the rails. Maybe someone with their boat near by can confirm.

Wow, thanks for the quick responses!! I think the clips will work for what we're thinking and will be nice to dry towels and life jackets too. We never looked at the camper enclosure - didn't see it in the catalog and finally found it by clicking on the "i" in the Boat build section. The setup is more than what we would need it for and the price tag a bit cost prohibitive, but might be a nice option for some. Thanks again!

Come boating season our responses are delayed!
