I put this in the dash the other day and it works great with my Android phone.  Not tried it with our iPhone or iPad yet, but will soon.

I'll post some pics soon too.

If anyone buys one of these, you want to use a 1-1/8 hole saw.  It says use a 1-3/8 hole saw, but I think that would be too big and sloppy.  It fits snug in the smaller hole.  Make sure you drill it exactly where you want it though - no margin for error.

By the way, I didn't use the rectangular trim piece that's shown in the picture on Amazon.  It slides right off.  By not using it, it looks just like the other factory 12V plug.

Did you cut new hole fitting or replace existing 12v cig lighter hole?

Nice. I've thought about adding that but so far I've just been using a dual USB charger in the main 12v socket. How did you wire up the power to it? Just piggy back off of the other plug?
