OK here's my dilemma. I'm lucky enough to own two water properties, one at the beach has a canal about 30' wide. DNR will let me put a lift in that goes out 10' and I have about 100' lengthwise. Trouble is it gets shallow at low tide - no chance of putting the boat of the lift in low tide. With the canal being so narrow and the pontoon being 27.5' long I am thinking I'll only be able to come in one way, drive onto the lift but then have to reverse out of the canal all the way. Some neighbors have jet ski docks and I know one is going to put a boat lift in in the future, further tightening the available room.
I also own a Yamaha 24 jet boat so I am thinking this might be better suited for a shallow and not so wide canal.
The issue with that is I would have to change how the existing yamaha lift is configured to handle the pontoon - not sure if I can use the two existing beams that support the Yamaha or if another setup is needed for the three toon boat
Also I'd have to spend 4k on a pontoon trailer just to move these things around. I also need a trailer to put the boat in and out on the pontoon in the event we get a storm out this way.
So I guess anyone else use the pontoon in a narrow/shallow area and would it be less stressful to bring the yamaha instead? The other location on a river gets shallow but its sits on wide open water. I think this location would possibly get more use I don;t know
