Clean lower unit.

Hi all what's the best way to clean buildup on lower unit when in the water. Thanks for any advice.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is the only thing that I have found to work.  All of the grime comes off easy and without to much elbow grease.

I just tilt motor up and out of water, no cleaning needed.

Just get in the water w/a sponge/rag and start wiping. Comes off easier if the outdrive is still in the water........


We do the same with the waterline on the tubes......

We do the same and have never needed to clean off yet in 5 summers.

Thanks for the info all. Will clean in the water first then maybe tilt up for the rest of the summer.
