I don't want to use the term racing as our insurance policies don't cover that but who has happened to be in a situation of coincidental close proximity full throttle tests with another boat. Curious to see what was next to you and the result.

I was pacing a bayliner with a 3.0 i/o as I thought it would be like taking candy from a baby. He wouldn't have anything to do with me and kept turning away. Weenie. I actually know the guy but he apparently didn't recognize me. I know better than to bite off more than I can chew.

Of course I've never done this myself, but there are a couple of kids around here with daddy's Sport Nautique's with their tails between their legs

Your boat is crazy fast Tom. Probably faster than some older PWC's as well.

I had the Sea Doo Bombardier twin engine jet boat

Now that was fast

How fast 50 plus at full throttle

That was an exciting ride

Back then it was faster than the jet ski's

I loved it but the gas consumption and rough ride made it obsolete to me

You will love this

Each 4th of July

The Lake has a pontoon race

They clear the lake for the race

They run 4 at a time

Shocks the hell out of me too

Though I didn't participate

The "Big Boys" were running fast

Made for interesting viewing

Haha Andy good job! But I think that 3.0 only has about 135 HP................Gonna have to pick on his big brother next time................Speaking of the "close proximity full throttle tests" I've passed a buncha people over the years but I've also gotten passed like I was anchored. My wife and I was coming back from the far end of the lake late yesterday afternoon cruising about 35/36 MPH and a nice lookin Manitou w/a 250 on the back scooted past us pretty good! We had a full tank and the bimini up...........didn't even bother.

I was puttering around 2 weeks ago when a jet ski came by close and circled around us.  I pushed it up to WOT and his eyes got big as he took off trying to catch up to us.  He did, but it took him a lot longer than he thought.  He gave us a big thumbs up as he passed by, and he left us alone after that.  I told my wife that right there justified getting the 200 as opposed to the 150 she was advocating for.

I had a nicer jet boat work pretty hard to get by me the other day. He wasn't pulling on me by much. I think people are still not use to seeing fast toons. My wife says I need to stop showing off when people are around. I told her we live on a small lake so people are always going to be around :D

As I cruise around 10mph and another pontoon doing 15mph passes me I yell "maniac" and tell them to slow down.

Link, that's funny right there. I was getting teased a bit yesterday by my buddies as I was passed by a KAYAKER. I used that to justify to the wife the need to get a 150 next time

(It was a no wake area of the lake)
