Considering Ordering a New Bennington Q30. Can I get some advice from the owners out there?

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, but not to boating. I live in Florida, but have a home on Lake Norman, NC that I spend a good amount of time at.

Currently, I keep a Premier 31 Boundary Waters, 10' beam, Tritoon at the property. We've had it new since 2015, and I'm ready for a new boat. I've admired the Bennington brand for a while now, and the Q30 is at the top of my list. But, here's the problem.

Our Premier has seating for 24. While we don't ever have that amount of humans on the boat, we will sometimes have 10-15. My wife seems to think that the seating looks limited on the Bennington even with the 10' beam. On our current boat, there is a bar behind the captains chair, and two recliners to the port side, with a large seating area and table behind. At the stern there is a flat sun lounge that houses the pump out head. The bow has dual seating areas facing each other similar to the bennington.

I see that Bennington's version with a bar (which we primarily use to serve food) basically makes up the entire rear of the boat. This isn't really attractive to us. I'm wondering if you all know of any other options for the floorpans that I might be missing? Will they design custom?

We'll do twin 300 White Yamahas, which I really like the idea of. Lot's better maneuverability than the single 350 that we have now.

Any comments on the above, or "must have" options that you can relay? I think the larger bimini would probably be something that we would want that extends forward of the arch.

Thanks,

Mark

You will love the Simtex material used on Bennington seats. My RT24 will seat 10 adults. Not near the seating of a Q30.

Bennington has done custom jobs before so worth an ask. Especially based on the model you’re looking at!
Where in Florida? I’m in Palm City north of Jupiter

Hey Mark welcome to the forum! Where do you keep your boat on Lake Norman?!? We keep our boat in the Point off of Yacht Rd. We used to keep it across the street from our house between MM 11 and 12 but our neighbors sold the lot. Love those big Premiers! Used to check them out at Wherena before they closed. I still see them at a lot on Denver 16. They're huge!!!

I think I know where you are. When you come into the Yacht Club and enter the No Wake zone are you in the first cove to the left? Been in there hundreds of times and I remember seeing a big Premier in there.....

All I can say is:

Bennington will work with you to customize a layout. I did some goofball build with mine that never existed before, but engineering was willing to try. As long as it is technically feasible using existing furniture they should be able to make it, especially at this price point.

The only question would be if that bar set is unitary then you'll be limited to location and orientation (as opposed to breaking into smaller sections like a sofa). But one of the advantages of a Bennington is the opportunity to do a custom build beyond the hundreds of predetermined layouts.

Find a good dealer and go for it!

We are literally directly straight ahead as you come in to the no wake zone. Yacht club to the right, homes on the left. Theres a point dead ahead and we are on that point.

I know exactly where you guys are! Beautiful neighborhood! I remember seeing that Big Premier! Didn't realize it had a 10 foot beam. We've had lunch anchored in your cove many times! Any of these look familiar?!?Screenshot_20210811-114211.png

If I panned a little to the right, those are all my neighbors!
